Beta Testing

For me there few things quite as fun as beta testing games. I have been involved in a few and if it were possible I would love to do so as a job. Currently that is about all I am qualified to do in the gaming industry at this point. At least as far as development goes. One of my favorite betas was for Starcraft 2, it wasn't so much that i love Starcraft, i do, it was more that even in a small way i got to be involved in producing a product. If i could do that all day that would be amazing.

Hopes

One of my biggest hopes is to be able to provide entertaining and informative content regarding the gaming world. I have found that Youtube is a great way to do just that. Sadly my rig just doesn't have the power to not only play games at a respectable rate, but I cant use any decent video capture software with it either. I don't hold any illusions of becoming like TotalBiscuit or Seananners, however i would like to get my voice out there as well as gaming is something that i am quite passionate about, as such i will be working to not only acquire a more acceptable hardware setup but also update my blog more often. There are a few ways that you, my readers, can help. The biggest way to help is to comment and let me know what kind of stuff you want to read about, also clicking the links can help me quite a bit as i am able to make some money from that. However i am much more concerned with providing content not make a penny here or there. so please leave comments and let me know what you want. Some things i wont be able to do until a later time but i will certainly try to do everything i can with what i currently have.

I want to be the very best....

Hello all, welcome to another wonderful blog post by yours truly Dj. Today I will be doing a quick first impressions review on Pokemon White.

I was able to pick up my copy of Pokemon White a few days ago and I must say I am quite pleased with the purchase. I wasn't really expecting a whole lot from it simply because it is another pokemon game and to an extent, that's exactly what it is. However I feel that it does a pretty good job of recreating some of the magic that we experienced when Red and Blue were first released. The two Things that have really impressed me so far are the visuals and the roster of new pokemon.

The Graphic update for this game I feel wasn't really needed as I was quite happy with the visuals from Diamond and Pearl However I do like that they pushed themselves to make the game look as good as it does. All the buildings are rendered in 3d and certainly have a pop about them that is very nice. The Battle sprites are also quite nice. The big change there being that the sprites now move about during the battle. My one complaint though is that the sprites of your pokemon will appear blurry, while it doesn't detract from the overall experience it is disappointing that Gamefreak didn't spend alittle more time on them.

As for the new roster I have to be completely honest and say that I really hated them in the beginning. However as the game has gone on the new pokemon have not only grown on me but it has become one of my favorite generations, at the very least it is more appealing than Ruby and Saphire.

I would have to say that this is a very strong addition to the pokemon franchise and is a must have title for anyone who enjoys pokemon or enjoys rpgs on the ds. Thankyou for reading and i will see you next time.

Call of Civility

We live in a very interesting time. Due to the Internet we are able to talk to people a world away. Truly it is a marvel, yet how do we utilize this amazing technology? We us it to debase and insult others. Everyone has done so at least once, I am no exception. However that was when I was 12. If this kind of behavior was limited to children then maybe things wouldn't be so bad, sadly though this is not the case. Grown men and women also indulge in this type of behavior. Some of you may think that what you say in a Call of Duty lobby or in Trade Chat in World of Warcraft doesn't matter the people on the other side of that avatar. People thought the same thing about Myspace. Have we already forgotten about that girl who took her own life because she was being bullied by an adult? I know it seems like that was an eons ago however it was only in 2006. Please people lets try to keep the Internet a civil place.

In the event that someone had not heard about the Myspace incident here is a link to the Wikipedia page

Love for the game

Gaming has been a part of my life for a very long time, for as long as i can remember i have passed the time by delving into the fantastic worlds that game companies such as Nintendo and Sega have blessed us with. Countless hours spent saving Princess Peach and trying to thwart the misdeeds of Dr. Robotnik. However my greatest memories of these games have nothing to do with beating them or even playing them as much as playing them with my mother.

It was my mother that first introduced me to the mushroom kingdom and i have been thankful ever since. even to this day we will pass the time by loading up Mario 3 on the Virtual Console. Were it not for her i may have never fallen in love with something that i consider to be one the the greatest art forms of our day.
